Māori Healing Services
Our Rongā Māori services are available for whanau, hapū, community and iwi in the Northland Region of all ethnic and cultural descents.
Kaitaia Hospital, Whangarei, & Telehealth
We provide Rongoā Māori at Whare Rongoā, Kaitaia Hospital and at Whare Rongoā Whangarei. We also offer Telehealth Services, and we can visit the whānau in around Ngāpuhi Nui Tonu, (we can come to you).
At Whare Rongoā We Offer:
Spiritual healing through karakia/prayer. Karakia clears unwanted negative energy and ensures the healing channel is activated and open to transmute the clearing/healing to take place.
We ensure a safe space/forum is available for cultural support, advice, and sharing kōrero/perspectives.
Rongoā rākau are plants that have been sourced and prepared to be used in a variety of ways to bring healing, relief and comfort:
Mirimiri is a traditional Māori body massage healing modality that incorporates the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of a person’s wellness. It aids in releasing and relieving tension and pain that may be stored in parts of the body.
Cost: Koha/donation.
Whare Rongoā is open Monday to Thursday between 9am to 3.30pm by appointment.*
*After hours can be arranged as requested.
Our Whāre Rongoā facility ensures that our whānau will always feel safe during their visit to the clinic. We always make sure that everything is well-disinfected to make sure that we avoid transmission of Covid-19 and other infectious diseases.
We offer Telehealth services for those who are unable to attend our Whāre Rongoā facility.

Using Rongoā Māori
THMCT is an approved ACC Vendor for Rongoā Māori Healing throughout Northland. This rehabilitation programme is designed to restore your independence and ability to participate in everyday life following a brain injury, sensitive claim or any other injury.
With this ACC funding we can come to you via our Telehealth Services, mobile outreach clinics and organise a Kairongoā practitioner in your local area.
ACC will need to approve your request for funding to pay for your rehabilitation programme before you can start to receive care.
